Can a spouse get paid to be a caregiver in Colorado?

Short answer

Yes, but only in limited cases

Yes, with limits. A spouse is a 'Legally Responsible Person' (LRP). Since June 13, 2026, LRPs may be paid for up to 7 hours a week of homemaker services per member (HCPF OM 26-042). A spouse can't also be the member's paid Authorized Representative (HCPF IHSS FAQ).
